Commentary
Corn Higher at Midday, Despite Unimpressive Export Sales Data -
Corn futures are up 5 to 6 cents at midday, holding the overnight gains for the most part. There were 223 contracts put out against May futures Hogs Posting Mixed Thursday Action -Lean hogs are showing losses of 12 to 67 cents in the front months on Thursday, with gains in the deferreds. USDA’s National Average Base Hog Cattle Shoot Higher After USDA Confirms Negative H5N1 Meat Samples -Live cattle are posting midday gains of $2 to $3.40 following the USDA H5N1 announcement. Cash trade has been slow to develop this week with a few Soy Meal Leading Soy Complex Charge on Thursday -Soybeans are posting solid midday strength of 20 to 36 cents. There were 386 contracts issued against May bean futures, and that brought the oldest Cotton Lower After Disappointing Export Sales Data -Cotton futures are reverting to continued weakness, despite an overnight recovery. Contracts are down 88 to 101 points at midday, as May is showing Wheat Bulls Feeling Weak in the Knees on Thursday -The wheat market is trying to hold some gains at midday.
